Pre-Rides-
Pre-Rides are always on Friday. They have a designated time slot, generally between 1:00om-7:00pm. To ride on the pre-ride you must have your race plate from the league, along with a coach, who also has a race plate. The team will have 2 designated times to ride the pre-ride together. Those will be communicated through TeamSnap.
The purpose of the pre-ride is to give riders a chance to familiarize themselves with the course. It gives the coaches a chance to work through any technical spots on the course.
Camping-
Camping is a highlight on race weekends. Spending time as a team and bonding is an amazing feeling.
The league has designated spots at every race. You can choose to camp with a tent/RV or find your own lodging. Someone from the team will go early and place team flags out. That way you know where to go on Friday to set up. You are responsible for your own food and lodging at race weekends.
Pit Zone-
Pit Zone for race weekends refers to the team tent in all the chaos. This is like our headquarters for racing. A lot is involved to make Pit Zone and race weekend successful.
We set up Pit Zone on Friday, and everyone is encouraged to help. Our set up time depends on how many volunteers with have with the league. In Pit Zone you will find the race plates, which every rider needs to have to access the course. You will also find the race schedule displayed. It is the riders duty to be prepared for warm ups, and at the staging area on time. Lunch is provided for the riders, and can be purchased for family. It is served in Pit Zone. There are chairs for the riders to rest in, but we hope everyone spends more time on the course cheering riders on.
We take down Pit Zone when the last rider is off the course. Not the last rider on our team, but the last racer. Generally take down is around 5:00pm.
The course is also taken down after the last racer finishes. Once that is completed the league does an award ceremony for the top 5 racers in every category.
Meals -
On race weekends you are responsible for your own meals. If you would like to coordinate with other families you are welcomed too. Some race venues have a resort that is open on Saturdays for meals.
We like to provide lunch on race day for our riders. The week of the race a form is sent out via TeamSnap to get a head count of our racers. We also will provide lunch for the family, asking $6 additional per person. All that food will be provided in Pit Zone on Saturday.
We also provide every racer with a chocolate milk upon completing their race.
