This is the parent company of IICL - it runs at the national level

Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the United States. NICA is about having amazing adventures with your teammates while tackling both small and epic challenges.
For our volunteer coaches, NICA's Coach Education Program delivers comprehensive training to NICA coaches that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to provide quality programming to NICA student-athletes. Quality coach education is the cornerstone to developing great youth coaches who can support the mission and vision of NICA.

Run under NICA this is the league run in the state of Idaho

The Idaho Interscholastic Cycling League was founded in 2014 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) Project League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). We facilitate the development of high school and middle school teams/clubs for grades 6-12 and provide the education, training, licensing and insurance for coaches and volunteers. We also produce high-quality mountain bike events and races that emphasize the value of participation, camaraderie, positive sporting behavior and well-being over competition.

With the cooperation of our partners and our sponsors, we provide a positive experience for ALL student-athletes, regardless of ability level, in accordance with NICA’s Five Core Principles:
Fun: Inspiring friendship, joy, and adventure

Inclusivity: Everyone should be able to participate in our programs and feel welcomed, respected and supported

Equity: Committed to fair treatment, equal access, opportunity, and elimination of barriers to encourage participation for all

Respect: Consideration for all others, oneself, and the outdoors

Community: NICA unites diverse people, families and communities through cycling by creating fun and welcoming experiences
